I’m no psychologist, but I like thinking about psychology. Why do people do what they do, and what holds them back? I’m guessing the biggest reason may be FEAR.
So, what’s got a hold of you? What makes you afraid to connect with others? Maybe it’s that you think you’ll be betraying someone else if you do something without them? Maybe it’s that you think a new connection will not accept you? Maybe it’s just easier or better to leave things the way they are?
Maybe all those things are true. But, just maybe they’re not. How do you know if you don’t try? What’s the worst that could happen if you do? If you can live with the worst, then step outside of your FEAR and just go. See what happens. Maybe your first attempt blows up. Maybe the second one does too. But keep at it, and pretty soon, you’ll see that you’re doing things you didn’t think you could do. You’re meeting people you never knew before. You’re connecting in a way that makes your heart happy, and someone else’s too!
DAY 20 HOMEWORK: As you’re stepping out of your FEAR, remember to be your authentic self. You are wonderfully made the way you are, and a kindred will love you for who you are, not who you pretend to be.
